Cant live the American Dream here, partner

He really hates America. Despite the fact that he has tons of close family members spread from coast to coast. He would have proved more mature by saying that he was wanting in admiring US foreign policy. But Z is only 12 years old. His age did not discourage him to say why he had such feelings for the country of his cousins.

Z knows a thing or two about history and politics thanks to his lazy dad who spends hours listening or reading out to some pretty boring stuff about global power by some really boring people. Time could have been better spent in a cricket pitch. But thats another problem. Empty grounds are burried under the rubble of bricks and cement of high rise complexes. Z and I happen to live in one of them.

It gets pretty obvious who really is the brains around the house. After gulping down a few books written by western scholars Z’s father comes out shaken and visibly perplexed about the whole world. The only sensible thing to do  seems to ask Z. “Son, why do you hate America?” Z did’nt need a break to think about the question. “Because they are always humiliating my religion”. How much does he know about his religion. “See, all over the world people are fed up with America. Cairo, Yemen, Benghazi, muslims dont like America anymore dad. Its not just me. Its everybody.”

Z is a just a little kid. What does he know about politics. People love America. The land of the free home of the brave. Its a free country where  anyone can go and pursue the American dream. I am sure that is what the Egyptians, Yemenis, Libyans, Syrians, Iraqis, Afghans, Pakistanis and possibly the entire muslim world wants. They just want to live like Americans living the ALL American dream. Then why do kids like Z think otherwise? They must be wrong, ofcourse.
